If the shift lever cannot be moved from P (Park) to R (Reverse) with the brake pedal depressed, keep depressing the brake pedal, then proceed as follows:

1. Press the shift lever release button.

2. Press the shift lever release button and hold it down.

3. Move the shift lever.
