Description

- Mode
- Virgin State
- The receiver is shipped in this state. Therefore, the replacement parts must be in this state.
- In this state there is no automatic location, no sensor activation, no sensor control, and no trouble codes.
- This state indicates that the platform settings must be written to the receiver and that the sensors have not been learned.
- Normal State
- To check the tire inflation status and perform DTC checks, the receiver must be in this state.
- In this state, sensor learning/detection is enabled automatically.
- Virgin State
- OVERVIEW
- Learn the TPMS sensors for automatic low tire pressure monitoring.
- Uses sensor information, distance traveled, ambient noise levels, auto learning status, output short circuit/poor contact status, vehicle battery charge level, and internal receiver status to determine whether there is a malfunction in the vehicle or system.
Operation
- GENERAL FUNCTIONS
- Automatic learning occurs only once per ignition cycle.
- At the end, the IDs of the 4 wheel sensors are entered into memory for monitoring.
- While automatic learning is completed, previously learned sensors are checked for underinflated/leaking tire warnings.
- General Conditions for Learning New Sensors:
- The receiver must make sure the sensor is not temporary: a. Uses vehicle speed. b. Previously used sensor learning reliability reduction.
- Typical time of continuous driving at a speed above 15.5 mph (25 km/h) for learning a new sensor is longer than 20 minutes.
- General Conditions for Unlearning a Deleted Sensor:
- It takes less than 20 minutes at a speed of 15.5 mph (20–30 km/h).
- Reliability reduction depends on the duration during which the vehicle travels at a speed greater than or equal to 12.4 mph (20–30 km/h).
