Electronic Child Lock System

If you press the Electronic Child Lock System switch and the indicator light comes on, rear passengers cannot open the rear door from inside the vehicle. To cancel the Electronic Child Lock System, press the Electronic Child Lock System switch again; the indicator light will turn off.
The Safe Exit Assist (SEA) system operates when the Electronic Child Lock System is activated and the Safe Exit Assist (SEA) feature is selected on the instrument cluster. However, the Safe Exit Assist (SEA) system does not automatically activate the Electronic Child Lock System.
The Electronic Child Lock System can be operated approximately 10 minutes after the engine is turned off.
If your vehicle is equipped with the Electronic Child Lock System, the manual rear door child-protector locks are not provided.
If the Electronic Child Lock System is activated, the rear passengers also cannot open or close the rear windows. For more information, refer to the Windows section in this chapter.
CAUTION
If the Child Safety Lock system does not operate when the electronic child safety lock switch is pressed, a message will be displayed and an alarm will sound.
In this case, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
