Filter Replacement

The air filter can be cleaned with compressed air during inspection. Do not try to wash or rinse it, as water may damage it. If it is dirty, replace it.

1. Lower the air filter cover.

2. Wipe the inside of the filter housing.

3. Move the lever to the UNLOCK position.

4. Replace the filter.

5. Raise the lever (1) to the LOCKED position.

6. Install the cover (2) so that the hooks engage securely in the brackets (3).

7. Make sure the cover is properly secured.

Information

If the vehicle is operated in dusty or sandy areas, the filter should be replaced more often than the normal recommended intervals (see "Severe Service Maintenance" in this chapter).

NOTICE

  • Do not drive without the air filter. This may cause excessive engine wear.
  • When removing the air filter, make sure that no dust or dirt enters the air intake to prevent damage.
  • Use only genuine HYUNDAI parts. Otherwise, you may damage the air flow sensor.
