Owner Maintenance

~1min read

WARNING

Vehicle maintenance can be dangerous. If you do not have the necessary knowledge and experience, or tools and equipment sufficient to perform a procedure, we advise you to have your vehicle serviced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

ALWAYS observe the following precautions when performing maintenance:

  • Park the vehicle on a level surface, place the shift lever in P (automatic transaxle), apply the parking brake, and turn the ignition to the LOCK/OFF position.
  • Block the front and rear wheels to immobilize the vehicle. Remove loose clothing or jewelry that could catch on moving parts.
  • If you need to run the engine during work, stand outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
  • Keep the battery and fuel system components away from any source of flame, sparks, or heat.

The following lists show the inspections and checks of the vehicle that must be performed by the owner or an authorized HYUNDAI dealer at specified intervals to ensure safe and reliable operation of your vehicle. If a problem occurs, the owner should contact the dealer immediately.

These maintenance operations are generally not covered by the warranty and may be charged for labor, parts, and lubricants.

WARNING

Diesel Engine

Under no circumstances should you manipulate or modify the injection system while the diesel engine is running or within 30 seconds after the engine is stopped. Immediately after the engine is stopped, the high-pressure pump, high-pressure hoses, rail, and injectors are always under high pressure. Fuel leakage may cause serious injury. While the diesel engine is running, persons with a pacemaker must keep a distance of 30 cm from the ECM or cables. High-intensity current from the engine control electrical system creates a high-amplitude magnetic field.
