Driving Your Vehicle

Sport Mode

~1min read

Whether the vehicle is stopped or moving, you can select sport mode by moving the shift lever from D (Drive) to the manual gate.

To return to drive mode, move the shift lever back to the D (Drive) position.

In sport mode, push or pull the shift lever to select the appropriate gear according to driving conditions.

+ (UP): Push the lever once to shift to a higher gear.

- (DOWN): Pull the lever once to shift to a lower gear.

Information

  • Only the 6 forward gears can be selected. To reverse or park the vehicle, move the shift lever to R (Reverse) or P (Park) as required.
  • The vehicle automatically downshifts when decelerating. When the vehicle stops, 1st gear is automatically engaged.
  • When the engine tachometer approaches the red zone, the transmission automatically shifts to a higher gear.
  • If the driver pushes the lever, the transmission may not perform the requested shift if the next gear is not within the permissible tachometer range.
The driver should shift to a higher gear according to road and traffic conditions, avoiding the engine tachometer entering the red zone.
  • When driving on a slippery road, push the shift lever (+). This engages 2nd gear, which is more suitable for smooth operation on slippery surfaces. Pull the lever (-) to return to 1st gear.
