Detection Area

• The smart detection zone of the power liftgate extends approximately 20~40 in (50~100 cm) behind the vehicle. If you are in the detection zone with the smart key, the hazard lights will flash and the horn will sound for approximately 3 seconds to warn you that the liftgate is about to open.
• The warning stops when the smart key moves outside the detection zone for 3 seconds.

Information

• The smart liftgate may malfunction if one of the following occurs:
  - The smart key is near a radio transmitter, such as a radio station or airport, which may interfere with normal operation of the transmitter.
  - The smart key is near a mobile two-way radio system or a mobile phone.
  - A smart key of another vehicle is used near your vehicle.
• The detection zone of the smart liftgate may change when:
  - The vehicle is parked on a slope or incline.
  - One side of the vehicle is raised or lowered relative to the opposite side.
