Side airbag (if equipped)

This vehicle is equipped with side airbags for both front seats and the outboard rear seats.

These airbags are designed to protect the driver and/or passengers in the front and outboard rear seats, in addition to the protection provided by the seat belts.

Side airbags deploy only in certain types of side collisions, depending on the force of impact, its direction, speed, and point of contact.

Side airbags do not deploy in every side collision.

WARNING

Do not allow passengers to lean out of the windows or place any objects between the doors and occupants seated in positions equipped with side airbags and/or curtain airbags.

WARNING

• The side airbag supplements the seat belts and does not replace them. Therefore, always keep your seat belt fastened while driving. The side airbags deploy only in certain types of side collisions where the force could cause injury to occupants in the vehicle.

• For maximum effectiveness of the side airbag system and to avoid injury during airbag deployment, the driver and passengers in the front and rear seats (if equipped) must sit upright and wear their seat belts properly.

The driver's hands should be on the steering wheel at the "9 o'clock" and "3 o'clock" positions. Passengers' hands should rest on their laps.
• Do not install additional seat covers.

• Use of such covers may reduce the effectiveness of the system or even completely disable it.
• Do not install any accessories on or near the side airbag.
• Do not place any objects over the airbag or between the airbag and the occupant.
• Do not leave objects (umbrella, bag, etc.) between the door and the seat. When the side airbag deploys, such objects may be thrown outward and cause injury.
• To prevent unintended side airbag deployment, which may result in injury, avoid striking the side impact sensor while the ignition is ON.
• If the seat or seat cover is damaged, have an authorized HYUNDAI dealer inspect and repair the vehicle.

Be sure to inform the dealer that the vehicle is equipped with side airbags.
