Additional Safety Precautions
• All occupants must sit upright, fully against the seatback, wear their seat belts, and keep their feet on the floor.
• Passengers must not get out of their seats or change seats while the vehicle is moving. An unbelted passenger may strike interior components or other occupants, or be ejected from the vehicle in a collision or sudden stop. • Each seat belt is designed for use by one person only. If one seat belt is used by more than one person, they may be seriously injured or killed in a collision.
• Do not install any accessories on the seat belts. Manufacturers of such products may claim they provide added comfort or change the position of the seat belt, but they may reduce the level of protection provided by the seat belt and increase the risk of serious injury in a collision.
• Passengers must not place hard or sharp objects between themselves and the airbags. Holding hard or sharp objects on the lap or in the mouth may cause injury if the airbag deploys.
• Keep occupants away from the airbag covers. All occupants must sit upright, fully against the seatback, wear their seat belts, and keep their feet on the floor. If occupants are too close to the airbag covers, they may be injured when the airbags deploy.
• Do not attach or install any objects on or near the airbag covers. Any object attached to or installed on the front or side airbag cover may interfere with proper airbag operation.
• Do not modify the front seats. This may interfere with the proper operation of the airbag system sensors or side airbag sensors.
• Do not place any items under the front seats. This may interfere with the proper operation of the airbag system sensors or side airbag sensors.
• Never hold a child of any age on your lap. The child may be seriously injured or killed in a collision.
All children must be restrained in appropriate child restraint systems or in the rear seat, and secured with seat belts.
WARNING
• Failure to seat occupants correctly may cause them to be too close to a deploying airbag, strike interior components, or be ejected from the vehicle.
• Always sit upright (with the seatback in the upright position), centered on the seat cushion, and wear the seat belt. Position your legs comfortably with your feet on the floor.
