Airbag Deployment Conditions

Front airbags are designed to deploy in a frontal collision depending on the severity of the impact.

Side Airbags and Side Curtain Airbags

Side airbags and side curtain airbags are designed to deploy when the side impact sensors detect an impact, depending on the severity of the side impact collision.

Although the driver and front passenger airbags are designed to deploy in frontal collisions, and the side and curtain airbags are designed to deploy in side collisions, the airbags may deploy in other types of collisions if the sensors detect sufficient impact.

Side and curtain airbags also deploy when a rollover is detected by the rollover sensor.

If the vehicle chassis is subjected to bumps or objects on unpaved roads, the airbags may deploy. Drive carefully on unpaved roads or surfaces not intended for vehicle use to prevent accidental airbag deployment.
