Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Operation

~1min read

When a vehicle is detected in the blind spot, the side mirror indicator illuminates.

  • The Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system operates when your vehicle speed is above 20 km/h and the vehicle speed in the blind-spot area is above 7 mph (10 km/h).

The collision warning may activate when the turn signal is operated toward the detected vehicle.

  • To warn you of a possible collision, the side mirror indicator may flash and an audible warning may sound.
  • When the turn signal is turned off or you move away from the vehicle in the blind spot, the system returns to the vehicle detection state.

WARNING

  • The detection range of the rear corner radar is determined by the road width. On narrow roads, the system may detect vehicles in the next lane and warn you. On wide roads, the system may not be able to detect a vehicle moving in the next lane and may not warn you.
  • When the hazard warning lights are on, the collision warning triggered by turn signal operation may not work.
