Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (A).
  3. Measure the resistance between the sensor signal terminal and the sensor ground terminal.
  4. Make sure the resistance is within specification.

Removal

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
  2. Remove the battery and battery tray. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
  3. Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
  4. Remove the valve body. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "Valve Body")
  5. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (A).
  6. Remove the solenoid valve main connector mounting clip (A) after removing the bolt.
  7. Remove the solenoid valve main connector (A).
  8. Disconnect the input and output speed sensor connector (A) after pressing the lock on the solenoid valve main wiring harness.
  9. Disconnect the solenoid valve oil temperature sensor main wire after loosening the main connector bolt (A).

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    • Replace the valve body gasket (A) before reinstalling the valve body cover.
    • Add automatic transmission fluid. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "Fluid")
    • Perform TCM learning after replacing the automatic transmission to prevent slow transmission response, acceleration jerking and rough starts. (Refer to Automatic Transmission Control System - "Repair Procedures").
