Yaw Rate and G-Sensor Description and Operation

Description
When the vehicle rotates about its vertical axis, the yaw rate sensor electronically detects the yaw rate by vibration of the tuning fork element inside the yaw rate sensor. If the yaw rate reaches a specified value after detecting vehicle yaw, ESP control is activated again. The G-sensor detects the lateral G of the vehicle. A small element inside the sensor is attached to a deflecting arm. The direction and magnitude of the lateral G applied to the vehicle can be known from the change in electrostatic capacitance corresponding to the lateral G.
