Engine Oil Selection - Engine 2 L

For best performance and maximum protection under all operating conditions, the manufacturer recommends only engine oils certified to API SP/GF-6A and meeting manufacturer's material standard MS-13340. An equivalent full synthetic engine oil may be used if it meets API certification SP/GF-6A. If API SP/GF-6A or equivalent oil is not available, please consult your local dealer for a recommendation.

Engine Oil Selection - Engine 3.6 L

For best performance and maximum protection under all operating conditions, the manufacturer recommends only engine oils that are API certified and meet manufacturer's material standard MS-6395.

Engine Oil Selection - Diesel Engine

For best performance and maximum protection under all operating conditions, FCA recommends engine oils that meet manufacturer's material standard MS-12991 and are API SN certified and meet manufacturer's requirements.

American Petroleum Institute (API) Engine Oil Symbol

This symbol means the oil has been certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API). The manufacturer recommends only API-certified engine oils.

This symbol certifies 0W-20, 5W-20, 0W-30, 5W-30, and 10W-30 engine oils.

Synthetic Engine Oils

You may use synthetic engine oils provided the recommended oil quality requirements are met and the recommended service intervals for oil and filter changes are followed.

Synthetic engine oils that do not carry both the engine oil certification mark and the correct SAE viscosity grade number should not be used.

Additives in Engine Oil

The manufacturer strongly recommends against adding any additives (other than leak detection dyes) to engine oil. Engine oil is an engineered product, and its performance may be impaired by additives.

Used Engine Oil and Oil Filter Disposal

Use care when disposing of used engine oil and oil filters from your vehicle. Used oil and oil filters disposed of improperly may pose an environmental hazard. Contact your authorized dealer, service station, or government agency for advice on how and where used oil and oil filters can be safely disposed of in your area.
