Rearview Camera
The rear view camera acquires images to detect pedestrians behind the vehicle. If the camera lens is covered with snow, rain, or foreign matter, the system may not operate properly. Always keep the camera lens clean.
Rear Ultrasonic Sensors
The rear ultrasonic sensors detect objects. The sensors are installed in the rear bumper. If the rear ultrasonic sensor(s) are covered with snow, rain, or foreign matter, the system may not operate properly. Always keep the rear bumper clean.
CAUTION
- The system may be deactivated if electromagnetic interference waves are present.
- Always keep the rear view camera and ultrasonic sensors clean.
- Do not use cleaning agents containing acidic or alkaline detergents when cleaning the rear view camera lens. Use only mild soap or neutral detergent, and rinse thoroughly with water.
- NEVER disassemble the rear view camera or ultrasonic sensor components, or apply any impact to the rear view camera or ultrasonic sensor components.
- Do not apply unnecessary force to the rear view camera or ultrasonic sensors. The system may not operate properly if the rear view camera or ultrasonic sensor(s) are forcibly moved out of proper alignment. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
- Do not spray the rear view camera or ultrasonic sensors, or their surroundings, directly with a high-pressure washer. Impact from high-pressure water may cause device malfunction.
- The system may not operate properly if the bumper has been damaged, or if the rear bumper has been replaced or repaired.
- Do not attach foreign objects, such as bumper stickers or bumper guards, near the camera or sensors, or paint the bumper. This may adversely affect system performance.
