1. Pull the hood release lever to unlatch the hood. The hood should pop up slightly.

Open the hood only when the vehicle is on a level surface, the engine is off, the shift lever is in P (Park), and the parking brake is set.

2. Go to the front of the vehicle, lift the hood slightly, press the secondary latch (1) at the center of the left side of the hood, and lift the hood (2).

3. Lift the hood. It will open fully by itself once it has been lifted approximately halfway.

A warning message will appear on the LCD display when the hood is open.

The warning chime will sound when the vehicle is driven at or above 3 km/h with the hood open.
