~3min read

System Settings

  • The driver can activate the system by placing the ENGINE START/STOP button in the ON position and selecting "Settings > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Blind-Spot Safety" on the infotainment system screen.
    - BCA and BCW are turned on and ready to activate when "Active Assist" is selected. Then, if a vehicle approaches the driver's blind spot, a warning sounds or braking force is applied.
    - BCW is turned on and ready to activate when "Warning Only" is selected. Then, if a vehicle approaches the blind spot area, a warning sounds.
    - The system is deactivated and the blind-spot safety button indicator turns off when "Off" is selected.
  • If you press the blind-spot safety button during "Active Assist" or "Warning Only", the indicator on the button turns off and the system is deactivated.
  • If you press the blind-spot safety button while the system is deactivated, the indicator on the button turns on and the system is activated. In this case, the system returns to the state it was in before the engine was turned off. When the system is initially turned on and the engine is switched off, then switched on again while the system is activated, the indicator will illuminate for 3 seconds on the outside rearview mirror.
  • If the engine is turned off and then turned on again, the system maintains its previous state.

Warning Timing

  • The driver can select the initial warning timing by selecting "Settings > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Warning Timing" on the infotainment system screen.
  • Options for the initial blind-spot collision warning timing are as follows:
    - Normal:
When this option is selected, the initial blind-spot collision warning activates normally. If this setting seems too sensitive, change the option to "Late". The warning activation may be delayed if the side/rear vehicle accelerates rapidly.
    - Late:
Select this option to activate the warning later when traffic is light and you are driving at low speed.

✽ NOTICE

If you change the warning timing, the warning timing of other systems may also change. Always be aware of this before changing the warning timing.

Warning Volume

The driver can select the blind-spot collision warning volume by selecting "Settings > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Warning Volume > High/Medium/Low" on the infotainment system screen.

✽ NOTICE

If you change the warning volume, the warning volume of other systems may also change. Always be aware of this before changing the warning volume.
