Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)

~1min read

FCA helps to reduce or prevent the risk of accidents. It recognizes the distance from a vehicle ahead, a pedestrian or a cyclist through sensors (i.e., front view camera and front radar), and, if necessary, warns the driver of the risk of collision with a warning message or warning sounds and applies emergency braking.

❈ FCA stands for Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.

❈ Sensor fusion (front view camera + front radar) FCA operates for a vehicle ahead, a pedestrian or a cyclist ahead.

WARNING

Observe the following precautions when using Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist:

  • This system is only a supplemental system and is not intended to replace the need for extreme care and attention by the driver. The sensing range and detectable objects are limited. Always pay attention to road conditions.
  • NEVER drive too fast for road conditions or through curves.
  • Always drive carefully to prevent unexpected and sudden situations from occurring. FCA does not stop the vehicle completely and is only designed to help mitigate an unavoidable collision.
