This indicator light illuminates:

  • After you turn the ignition key or engine start/stop button to the ON position,
    - the light comes on for about 3 seconds and then goes off.
  • If there is a malfunction in the EPB.
    In this case, we recommend that you have the vehicle checked at an authorized Kia dealer service center.

✽ CAUTION - Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Warning Light

The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) warning light may illuminate when the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) indicator light shows that the ESC is not operating properly (this does not indicate a malfunction of the EPB).
