This indicator light illuminates:

  • When there is a malfunction in the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system.
  • When this warning light illuminates, it may turn off after the vehicle starts moving:
    - at speeds above 60 km/h, or
    - in a gear higher than 2nd at 1500~2000 rpm engine speed for a certain period (approximately 25 minutes).

If this warning light flashes despite performing the procedure (a message will appear on the LCD display at this time), we recommend that you have the DPF system checked by an authorized Kia dealer.

WARNING - Diesel Engine with Diesel Particulate Filter (if equipped)

If you continue driving for an extended period with the DPF warning light flashing, the DPF system may be damaged and fuel consumption may increase.
