For Better Battery Care

- Keep the battery securely mounted.
- Keep the top of the battery clean and dry.
- Terminals and connections must be clean, tight, and coated with petroleum jelly or terminal grease.
- If battery electrolyte is spilled, immediately flush the area with a solution of water and baking soda.
- If the vehicle will not be used for an extended period, disconnect the battery cables.
✽ NOTICE
Your vehicle is equipped with a maintenance-free battery in most cases. If your vehicle is equipped with a battery marked LOWER and UPPER on the side, you can check the electrolyte level. The electrolyte level should be between LOWER and UPPER. If the electrolyte level is low, add distilled (demineralized) water only. Never add sulfuric acid or other electrolyte. Use care when adding water to avoid splashing the battery and adjacent components. Do not overfill the battery cells, as this may cause corrosion on other parts. Then make sure the cell caps are tightened. We recommend that you have this done by an authorized Kia dealer.
WARNING: Battery Hazards

Keep lit cigarettes and any other flames or sparks away from the battery.

Hydrogen, a flammable gas, is always present in batteries and may explode if ignited.
.png)
Keep batteries out of reach of children, as they contain highly corrosive SULFURIC ACID. Do not allow battery acid to contact skin, eyes, clothing, or painted surfaces.

If electrolyte gets into the eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. If electrolyte contacts the skin, wash the affected area thoroughly. If you feel pain or burning, seek medical attention immediately.

The battery contains lead. Do not discard it after use. Please return the battery to an authorized Kia dealer for recycling.
- When lifting a battery with a plastic case, excessive pressure on the case may cause electrolyte to leak from the battery, which may result in injury. Carry the battery using a battery carrier or by hand on opposite corners.
- Never attempt to charge the battery while the battery cables are connected.
- The electrical ignition system operates at high voltage. Never touch these components while the engine is running or the ignition is on.
Failure to observe the above warnings may result in serious personal injury or death.
CAUTION
Use of unauthorized electronic devices may discharge the battery. Never use unauthorized devices.
