Engine Compartment Fuse Replacement

1. Turn the ignition key and all other switches off.

2. Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling the cover.

3. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert a fuse, use the fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse panel.

4. Insert a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits securely in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult an authorized Kia dealer.

CAUTION

Always securely install the engine compartment fuse panel cover to protect against electrical malfunction that may occur due to contact with water. Listen for an audible click to make sure the fuse panel cover is securely fastened.

Multi Fuse

✽ NOTICE

Do not disassemble or assemble the multi-fuse when it is secured by nuts and bolts. Incorrect or partial torque during assembly may cause a fire. Have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.

Main Fuse

✽ NOTICE

Do not disassemble or assemble the main fuse when it is secured with nuts and bolts. Incorrect or incomplete tightening torque during assembly may cause a fire. Have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.

✽ NOTICE

The electronic system may not operate correctly even when the engine compartment and interior fuse boxes are not disconnected. If this occurs, the cause may be a disconnected main fuse (BFT type) located inside the battery positive (+) terminal cap. Since the main fuse is more complex than other parts, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.

Battery Fuse

If the battery fuse is blown, it must be replaced as follows:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating.

3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION

Visually inspect the battery cover to make sure it is securely closed. If the battery cover is not fully closed, the electrical system may be damaged by moisture entering the system.
