Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the HO2S connector.
  3. Measure the resistance between terminals 4 and 5 [B1/S1] of the HO2S. Measure the resistance between terminals 3 and 4 [B1/S2] of the HO2S.
  4. Make sure the resistance is within specification. HO2S [Bank 1/Sensor 1] (linear type)
    Item Specification
    Heater Resistance (?) 2,5 ~ 4,0 [20 °C]

    HO2S [Bank 1 / Sensor 2] (Binary Type)
    A/F Ratio (?) Output voltage (V)
    RICH approx. 0.92
    LEAN approx. 0.04

    Item Specification
    Heater Resistance (?) 3,3 ~ 4,1?[21 °C]

Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Disconnect the connector (A) and remove the sensor (B).
Note that the SST (part number: 09392-2H100) is useful when removing the heated oxygen sensor.
    [Bank 1/Sensor 1]
    [Bank 1/Sensor 2]

Installation

  • Install the component with the specified torque.
  • Note that internal damage may occur if the component is dropped. In this case, inspect it before use.
  • Do not use cleaner, spray, or lubricant on the sensing element or the sensor connector, as oil components in them may degrade sensor performance.
  • The sensor and its wiring may be damaged if they contact the exhaust system (exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, etc.).
  1. Install in the reverse order of removal. Heated oxygen sensor: 39.2 ~ 49 N·m
