Description

The transmission fluid temperature sensor monitors the operating temperature of the transmission fluid and transmits the readings to the TCM. It is an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor whose resistance is inversely proportional to the temperature level. The data generated by this sensor is used to determine the clutch activation and deactivation zones in the low and high temperature ranges, and to compensate hydraulic pressure levels during gear shifting.
