Inspection

  • Carefully check the connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, wear, or damage.
Power Supply Circuit Inspection
  1. Disconnect the shift lock switch connector (A).
  2. Ignition switch "ON" and engine "OFF".
  3. Measure the voltage between the power supply and ground in the inhibitor circuit.

    Specification approx. 12 V

  4. Connect the shift lock switch connector (A).
  5. Ignition switch "ON" and engine "OFF".
  6. Measure the voltage between each terminal and chassis ground while moving the shift lever to "P, R, N, D".

Specification: Refer to the "Signal Code Table" below.

Signal Circuit Inspection Signal Code Table
PIN P P-R R P-R N N-D D
Signal "1" 12V 12V 0 0 0 0 0
Signal "2" 0 12V 12V 12V 0 0 0
Signal "3" 0 0 0 12V 12V 12V 0
Signal "4" 0 0 0 0 0 12V 12V

Removal

  • Be sure to read and observe the "General Safety Information and Caution" before performing any work on the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injury.
  • Always disconnect the high-voltage circuit in accordance with the "High Voltage Disconnection Procedure" before performing any work on the high-voltage system to avoid serious electric shock.
  1. Disconnect the high-voltage circuit. (Refer to Automatic Transmission - "High Voltage Disconnection Procedure").
  2. Move the shift lever to the "N" position.
  3. Remove the lower cover (A).
  4. Drain the coolant from the hybrid engine cooling system. (Refer to Hybrid Powertrain System - "Engine Coolant")
  5. Remove the air duct (A).
  6. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
    1. Disconnect the breather hose (A).
    2. Disconnect the air intake hose (B) and remove the air cleaner assembly (C).
  7. Remove the hybrid power control unit assembly. (Refer to Hybrid Control System - "HPCU (Hybrid Power Control Unit)").
  8. Remove the tray (A).
  9. Remove the lock switch (A).
  10. Remove the shift cable mounting nut (B).
  11. Remove the manual control lever (B) and washer by removing the nut (A).
  12. Remove the inhibitor switch (A) after removing the 2 bolts.

Installation

  1. Make sure the shift lever is in the "N" position.
  2. Install the inhibitor switch (A).
Loosely tighten the inhibitor switch mounting bolts so that the necessary adjustments can be made.
  3. Install the manual control lever (A).
Loosely tighten the manual control lever nut (B) so that the necessary adjustments can be made.
  4. Align the hole (A) in the manual control lever with the "N" mark. Install the inhibitor switch hole (B), then insert the SST inhibitor switch guide pin (09480-A3800).
  5. Tighten the nut (A) and bolts (B) to the specified torque. Tightening torque: A: 17.7 ~ 24 N·m B: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N·m
  6. Remove the SST (09480-A3800).
  7. Connect the shift lock switch connector (A).
  8. Install the shift cable by tightening the nut (B).
Lightly tighten the shift cable mounting nut (B) so that the necessary adjustments can be made.
  9. Push the shift cable in the direction of arrow "F" to remove the free play, then tighten the nut (A) to the specified torque.

    Tightening torque: 9.8 ~ 14.7 N·m

  10. Install the tray (A).

    Tightening torque: 19.6 - 29 N·m

  11. Install the hybrid power control unit assembly. (Refer to Hybrid Control System - "HPCU (Hybrid Power Control Unit)").
  12. Install the air cleaner assembly.
    1. Disconnect the breather hose (A).
    2. Disconnect the air intake hose (B) and remove the air cleaner assembly (C).
    Tightening torque: Hose clamp bolt: 2.9 ~ 4.9 N·m Air cleaner mounting bolts: 7.8 ~ 9.8 N·m
    • When installing the air intake hose, align the clamp plate with the hose stopper.
    • When installing the air intake hose, align the center of the mark on the hose with the rib of the throttle body.
  13. Install the air duct (A).

    Tightening torque: 7.8 ~ 9.8 N·m

  14. Install the lower cover (A).

    Tightening torque: 7.8 ~ 11.8 N·m

  15. Connect the high-voltage circuit.
  16. Fill the hybrid engine cooling system with coolant, then perform air bleeding using GDS. (Refer to Hybrid Powertrain System - "Engine Coolant")
