Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Remove the air duct (A).

    Tightening torque: 7.8 ~ 9.8 N·m

  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
    1. Disconnect the breather hose (A).
    2. Disconnect the air intake hose (B) and remove the air cleaner assembly (C).
    Tightening torque: Hose clamp bolt: 2.9 ~ 4.9 N·m Air cleaner mounting bolts: 7.8 ~ 9.8 N·m
    • When installing the air intake hose, align the clamp plate with the hose stopper.
    • When installing the air intake hose, align the center of the mark on the hose with the rib of the throttle body.
  4. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (A).
  5. Measure the resistance between the sensor signal terminal and the sensor ground terminal.
  6. Make sure the resistance is within specification.

Removal

  • Be sure to read and observe the "General Safety Information and Caution" before performing any work on the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injury.
  • Always disconnect the high-voltage circuit in accordance with the "High Voltage Disconnection Procedure" before performing any work on the high-voltage system to avoid serious electric shock.
  1. Place the shift lever in the "N" position.
  2. Remove the valve body assembly. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "Valve Body")
  3. Disconnect the input and output speed sensor connector (A).
  4. Loosen the main connecting bolt (B).

    Tightening torque: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N·m

  5. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (A).
  6. Remove the solenoid valve connector clip (B) after loosening the bolt, then disconnect the connector (A) by pressing on it.

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  • Do not reuse the drain plug gasket, valve body cover gasket, and oil cooler tube washer.
  • Perform the procedures described below after installation.
  1. Fill the automatic transmission with fluid. (Refer to Hydraulic System — "Fluid").
  2. Fill the engine and transaxle cooling system with coolant. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Coolant").
  3. Fill the hybrid engine cooling system with coolant, then perform air bleeding using GDS. (Refer to Hybrid Powertrain System - "Engine Coolant")
  4. Reset the automatic transmission adaptive values using GDS.
  5. With the engine running, check for coolant leaks or fluid leaks from the hose connections.
