The Emergency Fastening Device (EFD) works in the same way as a seat belt pretensioner, but it operates when a collision occurs. It is located near the anchor on the driver and passenger seats and is equipment that compensates for the existing short stroke. The EFD is supported by two cables and is auxiliary equipment that prevents the driver and passenger from being injured, since the seat belt is pulled toward the mounting side after a collision.
