Kia Sorento: Interior Lights

CAUTION

Do not use the interior lights for an extended period when the engine is not running. This may discharge the battery.

WARNING

Do not use the interior lights while driving in the dark. Accidents may occur because the interior lights may obstruct your view.

Auto Cut-Off Feature (if equipped)

The interior light automatically turns off approximately 20 minutes after the ignition switch is turned OFF if the headlights are in the ON position.

If your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft alarm system, the interior light automatically turns off approximately 3 seconds after the system is armed.

Map lamp

The light will turn on and off as shown below when the switch is pressed. The light will turn off if the button is pressed again.

• • ON: The light remains on at all times.
• • DOOR: The light comes on when any door (or the tailgate) is opened, regardless of the ignition switch position. When the doors are unlocked with the transmitter (or Smart Key) or the ignition key is removed from the ignition switch, the light comes on for approximately 30 seconds until any door is opened. The light gradually turns off approximately 30 seconds after the door is closed. However, if the ignition switch is ON or all doors are locked, the light turns off immediately. If a door is opened when the ignition switch is in the ACC or LOCK position, the light remains on for approximately 20 minutes. However, if a door is opened with the ignition switch ON, the light remains on continuously.

Map Lamp

Press the lens (1) to turn the map light on or off.

ROOM (2):

- The map light and room light remain on continuously.

- To turn off ROOM mode, press the ROOM button (2) again (without holding it).

DOOR (3):

- The map light and room light come on when a door is opened. The lights turn off approximately 30 seconds later.

- The map light and room light come on for approximately 30 seconds when the doors are unlocked with the transmitter or Smart Key, until any door is opened.

- The map light and room light remain on for approximately 20 minutes if a door is opened with the ignition switch in the ACC or LOCK/OFF position.

- The map light and room light remain on continuously if a door is opened with the ignition switch in the ON position.

- The map light and room light turn off immediately if the ignition switch is turned to the ON position or all doors are locked.

- To turn off DOOR mode, press the DOOR button (3) again (without holding it).

✽ NOTICE

• DOOR mode and ROOM mode cannot be selected at the same time.
• When the light is turned on by pressing the lens (1), the light does not turn off even if DOOR mode or ROOM mode is not selected (not pressed).

Luggage Compartment Light (if equipped)

• • DOOR: The light comes on when the luggage compartment door is opened.
• • OFF: The light is always off.
• • ON: The light remains on at all times.

Vanity Mirror Light (if equipped)

• • : The light comes on
  when this button is pressed.
• • : The light turns off
  when this button is pressed.

Turn off the light before returning the sun visor to its original position.
