Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connector (A) and remove the reservoir cap.
Be sure to completely remove foreign matter from around the brake fluid reservoir and cap before opening the cap, to prevent contamination of the brake fluid and reduced braking performance.
  3. Using a syringe, remove the brake fluid from the reservoir.
    • Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle, as it may damage the paint. If brake fluid gets on the paint, wash it off with water immediately.
    • To prevent dust from entering the reservoir, close the reservoir cap again after removing the brake fluid.
  4. Disconnect the reservoir hose from the reservoir and the IBAU connector (A).
  5. Disconnect the brake tube from the IBAU by loosening the tube flare nut (B).
Before removing the IBAU, relieve the high pressure in the PSU accumulator for safety by performing the "High Pressure Release Mode" of the GDS connected to the SOUL EV.

    Tightening Torque: 13.7 ~ 16.7 N·m

  6. Remove the brake pedal assembly. (Refer to Brake System - Brake Pedal)
  7. Remove the IBAU mounting nuts (A), then remove the IBAU.

    Tightening torque: 12.7 - 15.7 N·m

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  2. Check the brake pedal operation.
  3. After filling the reservoir with brake fluid, perform bleeding. (Refer to AHB System - Bleeding the AHB System)
  4. Perform calibration after removing the brake pedal assembly. (Refer to Brake Pedal - Calibration)
