Replacement

  1. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle and make sure it is securely supported.
  2. Loosen the bolt (A) and disconnect the universal joint assembly from the steering gear.

    Tightening torque: 32.4 ~ 37 N·m

Insert into the shaft so that the center of the bolt and the mark (A) are aligned.
  3. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.

    Tightening torque: 88.2 - 108 N·m

    • Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).
  4. Remove the stabilizer link (A) by loosening the nut.

    Tightening torque: 98.1 ~ 118 N·m

  5. Remove the tie rod end ball joint (C) from the steering knuckle using SST (09568-34000).
    1. Remove the cotter pin (A).
    2. Remove the castellated nut (B).
    3. Use SST (09568-34000).

    Tightening torque: 23.5 ~ 33 N·m

    • When using the SST, be careful not to damage the lower arm ball joint dust boot.
    • Keep the SST tied to the vehicle, as there is a risk of injury if the SST falls during removal of the lower arm ball joint.
    • Peripheral parts may be damaged if the lower arm ball joint is removed with a general tool such as a pry bar, so be sure to use the SST.
  6. Loosen the bolt and nut, and remove the lower arm (A).

    Tightening torque: 58.9 ~ 71 N·m

  7. Loosen the bolt, then separate the roller rod stopper (A).

    Tightening torque: 107.9 - 128 N·m

  8. Install a jack, then remove the bolts and nuts. Tightening torque Subframe mounting bolts and nuts: 156.9 ~ 176 N·m (16.0 ~ 18.0 kgf·m, 115.7 ~ 130.2 lb-ft)
  9. Remove the stabilizer bar (A) from the front subframe by loosening the mounting bolts and nuts.

    Tightening torque: 44.1 ~ 54 N·m

  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  11. Check the wheel alignment. (Refer to Tires/Wheels – Wheel Alignment)

Inspection

  1. Inspect the bushing for wear and damage.
  2. Inspect the front stabilizer bar for deformation.
