Conditions Where the Rear Parking Distance Warning Does Not Operate Properly
The rear parking distance warning may not operate properly if:
1. Moisture has frozen on the sensor. (It will operate normally once the moisture has been removed.)
2. The sensor is covered with foreign matter such as snow or water, or the sensor cover is blocked. (It will operate normally once the material is removed or the sensor is no longer blocked.)
3. Driving on rough road surfaces (unpaved roads, gravel, bumps, slopes).
4. Objects creating excessive noise (car horns, loud motorcycle engines, or truck air brakes) are within the sensor range.
5. Heavy rain or water spray.
6. Wireless transmitters or mobile phones are within the sensor range.
7. The sensor is covered with snow.
8. Towing a trailer.
The detection range may decrease if:
1. The sensor is contaminated with foreign matter such as snow or water. (Detection range will return to normal once removed.)
2. The outside air temperature is very high or low.
The sensor may not detect the following objects:
1. Sharp or thin objects such as ropes, chains, or small poles.
2. Objects that can absorb the sensor frequency, such as clothing, sponge materials, or snow.
3. Undetectable objects less than 1 m (40 in.) high and 14 cm (6 in.) in diameter.
