Wheel Alignment and Balance, Flat Spots
Wheel Alignment and Tire Balance
The wheels of your vehicle were carefully aligned and balanced at the factory to ensure maximum tire life and the best overall performance.
In most cases, you will not need to realign the wheels again. However, if you notice abnormal tire wear or your vehicle pulls to one side, wheel alignment may need to be adjusted.
If you notice the vehicle vibrating when driving on a smooth road, the wheels may need to be rebalanced.
CAUTION - Wheel Weight
Incorrect wheel weights may damage your vehicle's aluminum wheels. Use only approved wheel weights.
Flat Spots
If the vehicle is parked or not used for a long period, the tires may develop "flat spots." After the vehicle is driven again, these flat spots may cause vibration, which usually disappears gradually as the tires warm up and regain their original shape. To minimize flat spots during long-term storage, inflate the tires to the maximum pressure indicated on the tire sidewall. When the vehicle is ready to be driven again, reduce the tire pressure to the recommended level shown on the tire and loading information label located on the driver's side center pillar of your vehicle (see "Tire Specifications and Tire Pressure Label" in Chapter 8).
