Seitenairbag

Your vehicle is equipped with side airbags in both front seatbacks. The airbags are designed to protect the driver and front passenger in addition to the seat belts.

The head/shoulder airbags are designed to deploy depending on the severity, angle, speed and impact point of the collision in certain side impact accidents. The side airbags are not designed to deploy in all side collisions.

WARNING

Do not allow passengers to lean their head or body against the doors, rest their arms on the doors, hold their arms out of the window, or place objects between themselves and the doors when seated in seats equipped with side and/or head airbags.

WARNING

• The side airbag is a supplement to the driver and front passenger seat belts, not a replacement for them. You must therefore always wear your seat belt while driving. Side airbags deploy only in certain side collisions whose impact is severe enough to cause serious injury to vehicle occupants.
• To obtain optimum protection from the airbag system and to avoid injury from the deploying side airbag, the front passenger and all rear passengers (rear seats depending on equipment) must sit upright and properly belted (where seat belts are provided).
• Do not use additional seat covers.

• Do not place objects over the airbag or between yourself and the airbag. Also do not place objects in areas where the airbag inflates, such as on the doors, door windows, front and inner pillars.
• Do not place objects between the door and seat. These objects could become dangerous projectiles when the side airbag deploys and cause injury.
• Do not attach accessories near the side airbags.
• Aus Sicherheitsgründen dürfen keine schweren Gegenstände an den Kleiderhaken aufgehängt werden.
