Wartung des Airbag-Systems

The airbag system (SRS) is maintenance-free, and there are no components that you can safely service yourself. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate or stays illuminated continuously, have the system inspected by a specialized workshop.

WARNING

• Modifications to the components or wiring of the SRS system, including the attachment of stickers or plaques to the airbag covers, and modifications to the body structure, may seriously affect the function of the SRS system and may cause injury.
• To clean the airbag covers, use only a soft, dry cloth or a cloth dampened with clear water. Solvents and cleaners may adversely affect the airbag covers and the proper deployment of the airbags.
• Do not place any objects on or near the airbag modules in the steering wheel, the instrument panel, and the passenger side above the glove box, because such objects may cause injury if the airbags deploy with a certain force in an impact.
• After airbag deployment, have the system inspected by a specialized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer or Kia service partner.
• Never modify or disconnect the SRS wiring or other SRS components. Otherwise, this could cause unintended airbag deployment or cause the system to become inoperative, which may result in injury.
• When disposing of airbag system components or scrapping the vehicle, certain precautions must be observed. An authorized Kia dealer is familiar with these precautions and can provide the necessary information. If the precautions and procedures are not followed, there may be an increased risk of personal injury.
• If your vehicle has been flooded and the carpets are wet or water is standing on the floor, do not attempt to start the engine. Have the vehicle inspected by a qualified service workshop in this case. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.
