Driving Your Vehicle
Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)
In this manual: Driving Your Vehicle
~1min read
The vehicle tends to roll backward on a steep hill when it starts moving from a stop. The Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) prevents the vehicle from rolling backward by automatically holding the brakes for approximately 1-2 seconds. The brakes are released when the accelerator pedal is depressed or after approximately 1~2 seconds.
WARNING
HAC operates for approximately 1~2 seconds, so always depress the accelerator pedal when starting the vehicle.
✽ NOTICE
- HAC does not operate when the shift lever is in the P (Park) or N (Neutral) position.
- HAC operates even when ESC is turned off, but does not operate if the ESC is malfunctioning.
