Yaw Rate and Lateral Acceleration Sensor Description and Operation
In this manual: Brake System
~1min read
Description
When the vehicle turns about its vertical axis, the yaw rate sensor electronically detects the yaw rate from the vibration change of the tuning fork inside the yaw rate sensor. If the yaw rate reaches a specified value after vehicle yaw is detected, ESP control is activated again. The lateral G sensor detects the vehicle's lateral G. A small element inside the sensor is attached to the lateral G deflection lever. The direction and magnitude of the lateral G applied to the vehicle can be determined by the electrostatic capacitance change due to lateral G.
