Brake Operation

~1min read
  • In an emergency situation, the FCA system applies the brakes.
  • FCA provides additional braking force for optimal braking efficiency when the driver presses the brake pedal.
  • Brake control is automatically canceled when the driver rapidly presses the accelerator pedal, or when the driver sharply turns the steering wheel.
  • FCA brake control is automatically canceled when the risk factors disappear.

CAUTION

The driver must always exercise caution when driving, even if there is no warning message or warning sound. The FCA warning may not sound while another system warning is sounding.

WARNING

FCA cannot avoid all collisions. Brake control cannot stop the vehicle completely. The driver is responsible for safe driving and vehicle control.

WARNING

The FCA system logic evaluates the risk of collision by monitoring several variables, such as the distance to the vehicle ahead, the speed of the vehicle ahead, and the speed of the driver's vehicle. Certain conditions, such as bad weather and road conditions, may affect FCA system operation.

WARNING

Never drive with a dangerous intent to activate the system.
