Warning Message

The sensor may be limited under the following conditions.
If there is a problem with the BCW system, a warning message will appear and the indicator on the switch will turn off. The system will turn off automatically.
- One or both sensors on the rear bumper are blocked by mud or snow, or by a foreign object.
- Driving in rural areas where the BCW sensor does not detect another vehicle for a long period of time.
- In bad weather, such as heavy snow or rain.
- A trailer or carrier is installed. (To use the BCW system, remove the trailer or carrier from your vehicle.)
Turn off the system by pressing the BCW switch and disabling Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) in the user settings mode on the cluster when using a trailer or when a vehicle is behind your vehicle.
When any of these conditions occur, the BCW switch indicator and the system will turn off automatically.
When the BCW cancellation warning message is displayed in the cluster, check that there is no mud or snow on the rear bumper at the sensor locations. Remove any mud, snow, or foreign material that may interfere with the radar sensors.
After removing any dirt or debris, the BCW system should operate normally after approximately 10 minutes of driving.
If the system still does not operate normally, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.

If the system does not operate properly, a warning message will appear and the indicator on the switch will turn off. The system will turn off automatically.
In this case, contact an authorized Kia dealer to have the system checked.
