To restart the engine from idle stop mode

  • Depress the clutch pedal when the shift lever is in N (Neutral). (Manual transaxle)
  • Depress the brake pedal to restart automatically. (Automatic transaxle)

The engine will restart and the green AUTO STOP indicator () on the instrument cluster will turn off. If your vehicle is equipped with a supervision cluster, a notification will appear on the LCD display.

The engine will also restart automatically without any driver action if the following occurs:

- Manual climate control blower speed is set above the 3rd position while the A/C is on.
- Automatic climate control blower speed is set above the 6th position while the A/C is on.
- A certain amount of time has elapsed with the climate control system on.
- When the defroster is on.
- Brake vacuum pressure is low.
- Battery charge is low.
- Vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h.

The green AUTO STOP indicator () on the instrument cluster will flash for 5 seconds.
