The system may not operate when:

- A sensor or system related to ISG malfunctions.

The yellow AUTO STOP indicator () on the instrument cluster will remain on after flashing for 5 seconds, and the ISG OFF button indicator will illuminate.

NOTICE

  • If the ISG OFF button indicator does not turn off by pressing the ISG OFF button again, or if the ISG system continues to malfunction, have your vehicle inspected at a professional workshop as soon as possible. Kia recommends contacting an authorized Kia Dealer/Service Partner.
  • When the ISG OFF indicator light illuminates, it may turn off after driving the vehicle for approximately 80 km/h up to two hours and with the blower fan speed control knob set to the 2nd position. If the ISG OFF indicator light remains on despite this procedure, have the vehicle inspected by a specialist at a workshop as soon as possible. Kia recommends contacting an authorized Kia Dealer/Service Partner.

NOTICE

If you want to use the ISG function, the battery sensor must be calibrated for approximately 4 hours with the ignition switched OFF, then start and stop the engine 2-3 times.

WARNING

When the engine is in idle stop mode, the engine may restart without any driver action.

Before leaving the vehicle or working in the engine compartment, stop the engine by turning the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position or removing the ignition key.
