WARNING

Ignition Key (Smart Key)

Leaving children unattended in the vehicle with the ignition key (electronic key) is dangerous, even if the key is not in the ignition switch or the start button is in the ACC or ON position. Children copy adults and may place the key in the ignition switch or press the start button. The ignition key (smart key) allows children to operate power windows or other controls, or even move the vehicle, which may result in serious injury or death. Never leave keys in the vehicle with unattended children when the engine is running.

WARNING

Kia recommends using replacement parts from an authorized Kia dealer/service partner. If an aftermarket key is used, the ignition switch may not return to the ON position after START. If this occurs, the starter will continue to operate, causing starter damage and a possible fire due to excessive current in the wiring.
