Oil Pump
Repair Procedures
Removal
Drain the engine oil.
(See Lubrication System - Engine Oil)
Remove the timing chain.
(Refer to Timing System - Timing Chain)
Remove the oil pump (A) with the outer rotor from the cylinder block.

Inspection
Inspect the rotor side clearance.
Using a vernier caliper, measure the outer rotor diameter.
Standard diameter: 46.781–46.820 mm (1.8417–1.8433 in.)

Using a micrometer, measure the oil pump housing bore diameter in the cylinder block.
Standard diameter: 47.000–47.039 mm (1.8504–1.8519 in.)

Calculate the clearance between the outer rotor and the cylinder block bore.
Standard clearance: 0.180–0.258 mm (0.0071–0.0102 in.)
Inspect the rotor tip clearance.
Using a vernier caliper, measure the outer rotor width.
Standard width: 17.46–17.48 mm (0.6874–0.6882 in.)

Using a micrometer, measure the oil pump housing bore diameter in the cylinder block.
Standard width: 17.55–17.57 mm (0.6909–0.6917 in.)
Calculate the clearance between the outer rotor and the cylinder block bore.
Standard clearance: 0.040–0.090 mm (0.0016–0.0035 in.)
Installation
Install the oil pump (A) with the outer rotor.
Tightening Torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
