System Setting and Activation
System Settings
The driver can activate the FCA system by turning the ignition switch to the ON position and selecting "User Settings" → "Driver Assistance" → "Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)".
The FCA system is deactivated when the driver cancels the system setting.

When the FCA system is turned off, a warning light is displayed on the LCD. It also illuminates when the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system is turned off. The driver can check the on/off status of the FCA on the LCD. If the warning light remains on with the FCA system activated, have the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
The driver can select the timing of the initial warning in the user settings on the instrument cluster LCD. The options for the Forward Collision Warning system initial warning timing are as follows:
- Early: When this setting is selected, the Forward Collision Warning system initial warning activates earlier than usual. This setting maximizes the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead before the initial warning is given. If the "Early" setting seems too sensitive, select the "Normal" setting. Even when "Early" is selected, the initial warning timing may not seem quick if the vehicle ahead suddenly stops.
- Normal: When this setting is selected, the Forward Collision Warning system initial warning activates at the standard timing. This setting provides a nominal distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead before the initial warning is given.
- Late: When this setting is selected, the Forward Collision Warning system initial warning activates later than usual. This setting reduces the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead before the initial warning is given. Select "Late" when traffic is light and driving speeds are slow.
