ESS: Emergency Stop Signal

~1min read

The Emergency Stop Signal system warns the driver behind by flashing the brake lights when the vehicle stops suddenly or when the ABS operates during braking. (The system is activated when vehicle speed exceeds 55 km/h and vehicle deceleration exceeds 7 m/s², or when the ABS operates during emergency braking.)

When vehicle speed is less than 40 km/h and the ABS is deactivated or the sudden stop situation has ended, the flashing of the brake lights will stop.

CAUTION

The Emergency Stop Signal system will not operate if the hazard warning lights are already on.
