System Setting and Activation
System Settings
- The driver can activate the systems by turning the ignition key to the ON position and selecting "User Settings > Driver Assistance > Blind-Spot Safety > Rear Cross-Traffic Safety." RCCA and RCCW are turned on and ready to operate when "Rear Cross-Traffic Safety" is selected.
- When the engine is turned off and then on again, the systems are always ready to be activated.
- When the system is initially turned on and the engine is turned off and then on again, the warning lamp will illuminate for 3 seconds on the outside rearview mirror.
The driver can select the timing of the initial warning in the AVN by selecting "User Settings > Driver Assistance > Warning Timing." The options for the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning initial timing are as follows:
- Normal:
When this option is selected, the initial rear cross-traffic collision warning operates normally. If this setting seems too sensitive, change the setting to "Late."
The warning timing may seem late if a vehicle to the side or rear accelerates rapidly.
- Late:
Select the warning timing when traffic is light and you are driving at low speed. However, if you change the warning timing, the warning timing of other vehicle systems may also change. Check the warning activation timing before changing it.
The driver can select the volume of the rear cross-traffic collision warning. Select "User Settings > Driver Assistance > Warning Volume > High / Medium / Low." However, if you change the warning volume, the warning volume of other vehicle systems may also change.
For more information, refer to "LCD Display" on page 4-51.
Operating Conditions
To operate:
Go to "User Settings > Driver Assistance > Blind-Spot Safety > Rear Cross-Traffic Safety." The system will turn on and stand by for activation.
The system is activated when the vehicle speed is below 10 km/h and the shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position.
* The system is not activated when the vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h. The system is activated again when the speed is below 10 km/h.
The detection range of the system is approximately 25 m. An approaching vehicle will be detected if its speed is within 8 km/h ~ 36 km/h.
Note that the detection range may vary under certain conditions. As always, use caution and carefully monitor your surroundings when driving in reverse.
