For the battery to function properly:

  • It must be installed correctly.
  • The top surface must be clean and dry.
  • The battery terminals must be cleaned, tightened and coated with petroleum jelly or a suitable grease.
  • Immediately wash off any spilled electrolyte with a solution of water and baking soda.
  • If the vehicle will not be used for an extended period, disconnect the battery terminals and recharge the battery every six weeks.
