The system works only when the driver is inside the vehicle, or when the key is within its operating range.

CAUTION

When the battery is discharged, or when the vehicle is in a location with strong radio wave interference, the operating range decreases or the system may not work at all. To determine whether the battery needs replacing, see “Remote control locking” on page 3-3.
