Fuses
The vehicle's electrical circuits are protected by fuses.
If any light, accessory or control does not work, check the protection of the related circuit. If a fuse is blown, the filament inside it will be cut.
If the same fuse blows again, do not use this system and have it checked by an authorized Mazda dealer as soon as possible.
Replacing a fuse
Replacing the fuses on the left side of the vehicle
If an electrical circuit does not work, first check the fuses on the left side of the vehicle.
- Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position and all other switches are turned off.
- Open the fuse box cover.

- Pull the fuse straight out using the fuse puller provided in the fuse box in the engine compartment.

- Check the fuse and replace it if it is blown.

- Insert a new fuse with the same rating and make sure it is firmly installed.
If it is not firmly installed, have it installed by an experienced technician. An authorized Mazda dealer is recommended.
If a spare fuse is not available, use a fuse with the same rating from a circuit not required for driving the vehicle, such as the AUDIO or OUTLET circuit.
WARNING
Always replace a fuse with a genuine Mazda fuse or an equivalent with the same rating.
Otherwise, the electrical circuit may be damaged.
- Reinstall the cover, making sure it is properly seated.
Replacing the fuses under the hood
If the headlights or other electrical components do not work and the fuses inside the cabin are good, check the fuse box located in the engine compartment. If any fuse is blown, it must be replaced.
Follow these steps:
- Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position and all other switches are turned off.
- Remove the fuse box cover.

- If any fuse other than the MAIN fuse is blown, replace it with one of the same amperage.

WARNING
Do not replace the MAIN fuse yourself. Have it replaced by an authorized Mazda dealer:
It is dangerous to replace the fuse yourself, because the MAIN fuse is a high-current fuse. Incorrect replacement may result in electric shock or a short circuit that could cause a fire.
- Reinstall the cover, making sure it is properly seated.
