Windshield washer fluid
Checking the Windshield Washer Fluid Level
WARNING
Use only windshield washer fluid or clean water in the fluid reservoir:
Using antifreeze as washer fluid is dangerous.
If sprayed onto the windshield, it will smear, impair visibility and may cause an accident.
Using windshield washer fluid without antifreeze protection in winter:
Operating the vehicle at temperatures below 4°C (40°F) with windshield washer fluid that has no antifreeze protection is dangerous, as it may block your view through the windshield and cause an accident. In cold weather, always make sure to use windshield washer fluid with antifreeze protection.
NOTE
Local, provincial or federal regulations may restrict the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are commonly used as antifreeze agents in windshield washer fluid. A windshield washer fluid with a low VOC percentage should only be used if it provides adequate freeze protection for all regions and climates where the vehicle will be driven.
Check the level in the windshield washer fluid reservoir and add fluid if necessary.

Use clean water if windshield washer fluid is not available.
In cold weather, use only an antifreeze windshield washer solution.
