Capot

  1. Pull the hood release handle located under the instrument panel on the driver's side; the hood will rise slightly.
  2. Using your fingertips, push the lever located at the front of the hood to the side as illustrated, then lift the hood.
  3. Remove the prop rod from the clip.
  4. Insert the prop rod into the slot in the fender lip on the passenger side.
  5. To close the hood, return the prop rod to its clip, lower the hood to approximately 30 cm (12 in) above the latch, and let it drop. This ensures that the hood latch is properly engaged.

WARNING

  • Make sure the vehicle hood is closed and properly latched before driving. The vehicle must never be driven if the hood is not securely closed.
  • If you see steam or smoke coming from the engine compartment, do not open the hood, as you may be injured.
